Calorie Calculator – Daily Calorie Intake to Maintain Weight
A calorie calculator estimates how many calories you need per day to maintain your weight. It uses your BMR (from weight, height, age, sex) and an activity factor. This article explains the method and links to our calorie calculator.
Quick Answer
| Label | Value |
|---|---|
| Profile | 70 kg, 170 cm, 30, male |
| Activity | Moderate (1.55) |
| Calories/day | 2,507 |
How It Works
We use the Mifflin–St Jeor equation for BMR, then multiply by an activity factor (1.2 sedentary, 1.375 light, 1.55 moderate, 1.725 active, 1.9 very active). Result is estimated calories to maintain weight. To lose weight, consume less; to gain, consume more.
