How it works
Convert temperatures between the three major scales: Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F), and Kelvin (K).
Conversion formulas
- °C to °F: (°C × 9/5) + 32 - °F to °C: (°F − 32) × 5/9 - °C to K: °C + 273.15 - K to °C: K − 273.15
Common reference points
- Water freezes: 0°C = 32°F = 273.15K - Water boils: 100°C = 212°F = 373.15K - Body temperature: 37°C = 98.6°F - Room temperature: 20-22°C = 68-72°F
Multiply by 9/5 and add 32. For example, 25°C × 9/5 + 32 = 77°F.
Kelvin is the SI unit for temperature, used in science. 0K is absolute zero (−273.15°C).
About 37°C or 98.6°F, though it varies slightly by person and time of day.
